Roosevelt Relief

Our theme is semester is entitled Roosevelt Relief. While all the center's are working busily on their individual projects and policy, all of the policy centers are going to band together to write policy for the purpose of aiding a community in need. This semester the Roosevelt Institution directors have chosen to work with the area's effected by Katrina in order to write economic, healthcare, foreign policy, environmental, education, and civil liberties policy in order to provide solutions to the problems being presented. Rather than simply raising money, we will write policy that can provide a plan of action, aid for the areas in crisis, and to establish a precedent for the future. Also throughout the semester we will be having events on campus to get the student body involved in the cause, and will use them to raise money as well, so at the end of the semester we will have a book of policy, created through the collaboration of each center, and a donation that will allow those charities we send our work to to begin implementing our ideas on the ground. Get excited. This is finally an opportunity to really help people through policy!
